"NEVER USE AFTER MIDNIGHT’ These four words tagged under his skateboard suggested the name of his new electro project … ‘“it’s quite risky” he said, the project had to evolve sensibly...
He came to music through rock and instrumental punk. Nicolas Réveillaud alias Never Use After Midnight then heads towards electronic music with coalesced techno tracks. This translates into a series of underground events surrounded by his small crew and an impressive sound system. It is during this time that he creates dynamic, unusual electronic music by mixing various production methods. His sounds come straight from pop, disco and dance rhythms from the 80s/90s, that are mischievously combined to original rhythmic. It is his past as an instrumentalist, combined to the underground techno architect for more than 15 years, and acute music lover who collects a wide range of vinyls that imprinted on this hybrid format.
When he DJs or plays live with his machines, he loves to engage the crowd. His music is a smart combination of influences and a unique «savoir faire ». Preacher of a new French Touch, his creations reveal his talent as a producer and composer. In his first EP Monster Blaster, the song eponymous brings excitement through talkbox voices and vocoder. Never Use After Midnight takes us into his world inspired by absurd demons with dynamic and dancing grooves that are legitimate heirs of Daft Punk (notably their album Homework). He also adopts sounds reminiscent of the 80’s vibes of Moroder, or of the most dynamic productions of Quincy jones. Sometimes more romantic, he takes the mike as in "Dream Designer", a track that could be part of a Carpenter production.
